For example the Rock Foundry’s Yamaha PHX kick drum combined with the Tama Bubinga kick in Metal Machinery is my absolute go-to bass drum. 27! That’s insane detail and it absolutely stands out against some of the legacy hi-hat sample libraries that have been around for a while.įor me, I stack just about every drum and a few of my cymbals and find that you can blend some really nice snares and kicks using different libraries. Just as an example, the D&D hi-hats have 27 articulations. The latency is in your computer more than inside a module but from td 4 to TD15 some ppl believe to get a snappier response but usually only talking about the Roland internal Sounds.Completely agree that with Decades and D&D, you get some incredible articulation response and that the kits as a result are very versatile. But Dual Zone and 1-127 velocity is on all midi modules the rest is just shop talk imagination. If your talking Snare drum and have 3 zones not two then you got one more Zone you’ll hear that. Other then that you have single or dual zones only You’ll hear a difference on the modules sound sure, or Roland would be out of business but that won’t translate into SD2, promise.ġ27 Velocities is 127 velocities aint nothing can make a difference to them, the nuances come from the SD2 not Roland module. I wil check this out in the wintertime when I’m off season and have a lot of time testing all this. I was told that the lantency with this newer module is also lower. I haven’t connected my Superior to my TD-30 yet, but I guess that I will be suprised as well. I set up both of them the same way and felt the difference, even with my older Rolandpads (PD-105, PD-125). It has more nuances and higher resolution. I just updated from TD-20 to a TD-30 and the Triggerengine feels much more filigrane. I agree to juicy that the sound you hear will always be Superior, no matter which module you use.īut I don’t agree to his opinion that you don’t feel any difference between the modules.
